Movie Quotes: The Lie

Ted: Im'na tell you a story.
This young man walkin' across the field,
and runs into an old man who's planting a apricot seedling..
And he ask the old man, "why are you planting such a new tree?
Then the old man says,
"because I live each day as though I will never die.
And the young man says the old man, "well that's funny,
because I live each day as though I will die tomorrow."
Which one of us is right?
Lonnie: And what is that mean?
Ted: Think about it bro.

It's awful!
I mean it's one of those things that's exactly what they say,
you can't imagined until it happens,
and then it happens.. and you just have to find a way to cope.

I just reached my maximum capacity,
for pretending like I care, when I go home.

Ted: What are you talkin' about man, you're a father.
You need to take responsibility for your actions.
Lonnie: Brother loved you, but who the f*ck are you
to talk about responsibility,
you live and bathe ... on the beach?
Ted: Yeah, and I'm not responsible?
I chose this life because I want to live a life of freedom.
You made your choices.
You have a family, you have a wife,
you have a beautiful baby girl, and if you want your life to change,
you need to be honest with yourself, and your wife.
You can't keep runnin' away from sh*t man.
Lonnie: Uh, huh, yeah you're right.
Ted: Yeah, I am right.
Lonnie: Yeah.

We're allowed to, we're allowed to change things right?
We don't just have to just turn our heads down until we're 60.
Because if we can't figure out what makes ourselves happy,
she's gonna be, she's gonna be  miserable.
